Commander Jeffrey “Caesar” Czerewko, skipper of the VFA-146 “Blue Diamonds”, pulls off from a strafing pass on enemy vehicles near Now Zad, Afghanistan as part of continuing combat action during Operation Enduring Freedom. Having previously destroyed other Taliban positions in this mountain village with Mk 82 500 pound bomb runs, “Caesar” and his wingman have had to “get close to their work” and resort to strafing runs with their F/A-18C Hornet’s 20mm Vulcan cannon. Echoing the words of President George W. Bush, due to the efforts of “Caesar” and the Blue Diamonds, the Taliban is on the run and their unwelcome stay in this once peaceful village is now finished.
